Help for the symptoms interrupting your day.

Burning, frequent bathroom trips and a strong urge to pee can make it hard to focus on anything else. These can be symptoms of a bladder infection, the most common type of UTI. Similar symptoms can also have other causes, including an STI. [1]

With MyTeleHealthPoint, you can start from your phone while you're in Ohio. Your clinician reviews your symptoms, health history, allergies and any recent antibiotics, then recommends a care plan. When an antibiotic is appropriate, they send the prescription to your chosen pharmacy. [4]

Tell us if you might be pregnant, have repeated infections or have a urinary or kidney condition. That helps your clinician choose the right assessment, testing and treatment. This guide focuses on adults; children need an age-specific assessment.

If you need a urine test, we help with the next steps.

You don't need to choose a test on your own. Your clinician decides whether testing is useful for your symptoms and history. A urinalysis looks for signs of infection; a culture helps identify bacteria and guide treatment. [3]

  1. Your clinician orders the appropriate test. Our team can coordinate urine testing through Labcorp or Quest and help identify a collection option that accepts your order. We'll explain the collection arrangements, known separate charges and who bills you before you agree.
  2. We explain how and when to give the sample. Follow the lab's instructions for the ordered test, including any clean-catch collection directions. If a culture is ordered, your clinician may ask you to give the sample before starting antibiotics because antibiotics can affect the result. They will tell you when to start treatment; do not delay or change prescribed treatment on your own. [5] [8]
  3. Your clinician reviews the results with you. You'll have a plan for care while results are pending and guidance on whether the result changes your treatment. Culture results often take a few days; your team explains what to expect for your test. [3]

Collection services, hours and order requirements vary by location. Our team helps you check these before you go. Bring a copy of your lab order if you have one; a paper copy may not be needed when the lab already has an electronic order. Quest requires pickup and drop-off appointments for tests that use home sample collection. Our team helps confirm the right route for your order. [6] [7]

Tell us how you are feeling so we can guide your care

If you have fever, chills, back or side pain, nausea or vomiting with urinary symptoms, contact a healthcare professional promptly and describe the full picture. These symptoms do not by themselves establish a diagnosis or determine where you must receive care. They can occur with a kidney infection, so your clinician will assess their severity, your health history and whether testing or an in-person examination is needed. Our team can help you navigate the next step. For confusion, trouble breathing or a medical emergency, call 911. [2]

If you're pregnant or might be pregnant, contact a healthcare professional promptly about urinary symptoms and tell the care team at the start.

Your $40 consultation

Your consultation includes a clinician's assessment of one straightforward concern and a personalized care recommendation. Medication, lab testing, specimen collection and outside services cost extra. If your needs call for a more involved visit or a separate concern, we'll explain any additional fee before you agree.

Review and communication of tests ordered during your original care episode are included in that episode. A result arriving later does not automatically mean another consultation fee. A new unrelated issue or a substantial clinical change may need a separate assessment.

Start in Spruce, share your symptoms securely and follow the team's visit and payment instructions. Care is cash-pay; we don't submit consultation claims to insurance. The team provides verified Cash App or Venmo payment instructions privately.

Questions before you start

Can an uncomplicated UTI be treated online?

Yes. Our clinicians assess and treat uncomplicated UTIs through telehealth. Your symptoms and health history guide the plan, including whether you need a urine test, video visit or in-person examination.

Will I need a urine culture before treatment?

Not everyone needs a culture. Your clinician decides which tests are useful and when treatment should begin. If they order a culture, they'll explain sample timing and your care plan while results are pending.

What should I have ready?

Have your medication and allergy list, your preferred pharmacy and any recent urine-test or antibiotic details nearby. Share these in Spruce. Your clinician will ask the follow-up questions needed for your care.

What if it could be an STI?

Tell your clinician privately. Urinary symptoms can overlap with STI symptoms, and the right testing can help clarify the cause. The team will explain the plan and fees for your presenting concern; uncertainty alone doesn't automatically mean two consultations. [1]

What if I'm not feeling better?

Message the care team promptly if symptoms persist or worsen, so your clinician can reassess the next step. If you develop the warning signs above, seek prompt care instead of waiting for a reply.

Can I use this guide for my child's symptoms?

Children need an age-specific assessment; contact a healthcare professional about their urinary symptoms. If a baby younger than 3 months has a fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher, get medical advice right away. [1]
